Updated: Mar 22
Do you have some pork shoulder, maybe a pot roast, perhaps some other meat and sides just sitting in you refrigerator? Who in your house doesn't touch them? Here's a fun way to make them new again, and super tasty.
The Grilled Cheese with BBQ and Mac-n-Cheese
Bring the meat and the macaroni too room temp (do not microwave).
Choose a thickly sliced bread
Pick a cheese (preferably not processed cheese food)
Follow video for assembly and cooking.
Here's our post for making your own BBQ sauce:
Bring the macaroni to room temp (do not microwave).
Spray waffle maker with cooking spray.
Add bacon, ham, or other breakfast meat to the waffle maker.
Add shredded cheese to the waffle maker.
Add the mac-n-cheese to the waffle maker.
Option - you can add shredded cheese to the top of the mac-n-cheese for extra crispy waffle.
Close and cook 5 minutes on medium heat. Check and continue cooking, as needed, to golden brown.
Serve with a drizzle of honey or maple syrup.
Here's our post for making the ultimate Mac-n-cheese:
Grate 1 tsp of fresh ginger.
White portions of 6 green onions.
2 cups of leftover meat.
1 TBSP fish sauce (add more to taste as needed).
Option - add 1/2 cup of chopped cabbage.
Pulse in a food processor to get to a minced consistency.
Check moisture to make sure it will hold shape but isn't wet.
Follow video for wonton assembly and cooking.
